Pooles Corner, PEI
-- Fresh off his
election call, Premier Pat Binns and his
Development Minister, Mike Currie were
welcomed at the Atlantic Store Décor
plant in Pooles Corner.
Atlantic Store Décor has been a
success story for APM and for
the Binns government. The plant was
built in 1998 with provincial and
federal government support. Rapid growth
for Atlantic Store Décor and necessity
for more space to start Landmark
Homes saw the plant expanded from
55,000 square feet to 85,000 square feet
in 2000. As one of their first campaign
stops, Premier Binns and Minister Currie
took the opportunity to say hello and
shake the hands of some of the 115
employees. They expressed great interest
in the diverse manufacturing activities
within the plant. Recently, the company
was proud to be involved in the
construction of the new East Prince
Health Facility, an initiative of
the Binns government, providing all
interior cabinetry and woodworking.
Atlantic Store Décor produces store
fixtures and commercial and
institutional cabinetry for regional and
national customers. Landmark Homes
produces prefabricated modular homes
sold direct to the consumer in PEI, NB
and NS. Both companies are part of APM of companies.
