Message
from CEO
David MacKenzie
The opening of The
Charlottetown Festival 2004 season was truly
''something wonderful'' as we celebrated on
many fronts. A Closer Walk With Patsy
Cline, the most popular show ever to
play at the MacKenzie Theatre, opened in the
completely renovated building on June 17th,
The following evening was the opening of our
new production, Something Wonderful! on the
mainstay, which included the Festival's gala
opening, This new show looks back on the
many successes of the Festival over our
40-year history, as well as an exciting peek
ahead. On June 19th, Elaine Campbell,
co-lyricist of Anne of Green Gables – The
Musical ™, joined us for the 40th
opening night of this magical show,
co-created by her late husband Norman
Campbell and Don Harron. Norman's magic
lives on through the musical, and we are
looking forward to a tribute of his work,
which will take place prior to the evening
performance of Anne™ TM on July 10.
